Joseph C. McConnell

About

Distinguished American fighter pilot of the Korean War era. He received both the Silver Star and the Distinguished Service Cross for his aerial combat heroics.

Before Fame

He joined the U.S. Army Air Forces as soon as he was eligible for service.

Trivia

While working as a test pilot, he was killed in a 1954 crash over Edwards Air Force Base.

He was married to Pearl McConnell.
