She attended Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. She started as a journalist for various networks, first in Arkansas for KSFM-TV in Fayetteville, then in Tennessee for WMC-TV out of Bennington. She joined WSB-TV in Atlanta, Georgia in 1998.
In April 2021, it was announced that she was going in for surgery to remove two brain tumors. August 2021 it was announced she was diagnosed with an incurable form of brain cancer.
She was born and raised in New York. She was the single mother of three children Shelby, Marley and Josh.
She was similar to MSNBC news anchor Stephanie Ruhle.
