Talmudic scholar and Rosh Yeshiva of Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary who is a mentor and role model for thousands of Jews.
He enrolled at Friedrich Wilhelm University in 1926.
He wrote "The Lonely Man of Faith" in which he drew on the first two chapters in Genesis to divide man into two groups: the majestic man and the covenantal man.
He married Tonya Lewit in 1931.
He opposed the philosophy of Adolf Hitler.
