Jozef Turczynski
Pianist
Musician, pedagogue, and musicologist who made significant contributions to piano teaching and performance.
He was instructed by Italian composer Ferruccio Busoni when he was in Vienna and by famed pianist Anna Yesipova while in Russia.
He instructed many future notable pianists, including Ryszard Bakst, Witold MaÅ'cużyÅ"ski, Halina Czerny-StefaÅ"ska, and StanisÅ'aw Szpinalski.
His father was his first teacher.
He was a Frederic Chopin devotee and helped with the editing and compiling of the 27-volume Edition of the Complete Works of Chopin, which was published in 1949.
