Surfer who is known for his accolades earned on the World Championship Tour, surfing's top tier of competition. He won the World Qualifying Series in 2007.
He began surfing at age 6. He continued throughout high school, when he attended Glenwood High School in Durban, South Africa.
In both 2010 and 2011, he won the Billabong J-Bay competitions in South Africa. During these years, he became the #2 ranked surfer in the world.
He was born and raised in Durban, South Africa. In 2014, he married South African model Lyndall Jarvis.
In 2010 and 2011, he was ranked behind only Kelly Slater in the World Surf League rankings.
