Trumpet Player
Trumpeter known for his work on the Lawrence Welk Show. While on the musical variety program, he was a featured performer in such numbers as 'Hot Lips' and 'String of Pearls.'
He auditioned for Lawrence Welk when he was fifteen years old and was told by Welk to come back and see him when he was a little older.
He was drafted into the Army, and he played with the North American Aerospace Defense Command band.
He and his wife Laura raised four children.
Both Zell and Don Friedman were inspired by the music they experienced at the Hollywood Palladium.
