Johnny Ryan

Born Johnny Ryan and better known by his artistic pseudonym of "Hector Mumbly," this popular and notoriously politically incorrect cartoonist created the Prison Pit, Blecky Yuckerella, and Angry Youth Comix series.
After earning an English degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, he created his debut work, the Angry Youth Comix series.
He contributed to National Geographic Kids, MAD magazine, and several other prominent publications.
He was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and he later settled in Los Angeles, California, with his wife and child.
He and fellow cartoonist Len Wein both worked on DC Comics series.
