Rock songwriter and music producer. He received a Producer of the Year Grammy Award for his 2005 work on albums and songs by Hilary Duff, Kelly Clarkson, Robbie Robertson, and Alanis Morissette.
Early in his musical career, he toured with Melissa Etheridge's band and wrote songs with Joe Cocker and Bonnie Raitt.
He worked on Van Halen's 2012 hit album A Different Kind of Truth.
He was born and raised in New York City. At the age of seventeen, he relocated to Los Angeles, California.
He wrote songs for and produced Ashlee Simpson 's Autobiography and I Am Me albums.
