Jazz guitarist who has played with Miles Davis, Charles Mingus, and other greats.
He attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston. One of his earliest recordings was with Chet Baker.
He was the recipient of the Miles Davis Award by the Montreal International Jazz Festival in 1998.
His family moved to rural Wilton, Connecticut where he first discovered blues and jazz.
He is one of the "Big Three" jazz musicians of his time, along with Pat Metheny and Bill Frisell.
