MMA fighter and winner of Spike TV's The Ultimate Fighter: Team Bisping vs. Team Miller.
He was a two-time state wrestling champion in high school, and was recruited to MMA by Chris Luttrell and Greg Jackson, who were impressed with his grappling ability.
He fought Demetrious Johnson in January 2013 for the UFC Flyweight title, and despite knocking down Johnson twice in one round, lost the match in a unanimous decision.
He was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and later moved with his family to Edgewood.
He made his UFC debut against T.J. Dillashaw on December 3, 2011 at The Ultimate Fighter 14 Finale.
