He grew up in Stryn, Norway.
He won three gold medals at the 2012 Junior World Championships.
He was raised with four siblings by Klemet Bo and Aslaug Hildegunn Thingnes Bo.
Hockey player Aleksander Barkov Jr. also competed in the Junior World Championships in 2011.
