Wing and fullback for Australia from 1996 to 2004; played in the 1995 and 1999 Rugby World Cups.
He attended The Armidale School in Armidale New South Wales and was selected for the World Cup at age 19.
He set a record for most tries in a Super Rugby season with 15 in 1997.
His father was principal of St John's College, Woodlawn.
He won the Rugby World Cup alongside Australian vice-captain George Gregan in 1999.
