Jo Shapcott
Poet
British poet, professor, and two-time National Poetry Competition winner. Her best-known works include My Life Asleep, Electroplating the Baby, and Of Mutability.
She studied at Trinity College, Dublin and at Harvard University. She published her debut poetry collection, Electroplating the Baby, in 1988.
She received the prestigious Costa Book of the Year Award for a 2010 poetry collection entitled Of Mutability.
She was born in London, England, and she studied in her youth at the Cavendish School.
She co-edited a 2002 essay collection on the poetry of Elizabeth Bishop.
