Jimmy Dorsey

Big band leader and Tommy Dorsey's brother. He was the composer of "I'm Glad There is You" and "It's the Dreamer in Me," two jazz-pop standards.
He and Tommy founded Dorsey's Novelty Six, which became one of radio's first jazz bands.
He played a number of wind instruments, including the clarinet, saxophone, and trumpet. His skills could be heard on "I'm Glad There Is You" and "It's The Dreamer In Me."
He married Jane Porter in 1927. The couple divorced in September 1949.
His talented vocalist was musician Helen O'Connell.
