Defensive minded point guard drafted in the second round of the 2018 NBA Draft my the Memphis Grizzlies after spending four years playing at West Virginia University. He was twice the NABC Defensive Player of the Year and was named the inaugural winner of the 2018 Naismith Defensive Player of the Year.
He was a teammate of fellow 2018 draft pick Jalen Brunson when he played AAU ball for Team NLP in 2011-2012.
He left West Virginia as the school's career steal leader (330), single-season steal leader (112, 2018) and single-season assist leader (246, 2018).
He attended high school in the city in which he was born.
He was coached by Bob Huggins at West Virginia.
