Jerome Bruner
Psychologist
American psychologist who contributed to human cognitive psychology and cognitive learning in educational psychology. He also contributed to the general philosophy of education.
He earned a B.A. from Duke University in 1937 and a Ph.D. from Harvard University in 1941.
He published numerous books including A Study of Thinking in 1956 and Actual Minds, Possible Worlds in 1985.
He was born to Polish immigrants Heman and Rose Bruner in New York.
His alternative form of interactionist or social interactionist theory of language development appealed to philosopher John Searle.
