Known as "The Flying Squirrel," he was the first person to win every major AMA motocross championship.
He began riding motorcycles at a young age.
Following his motocross career, he began open wheel racing in the Indy Racing League.
He has four children: Alain, Ayrton, Brandon, and Siena.
He often raced motocross against Ricky Carmichael.
