He was born as a direct descendant of the last French king Louis Philippei.
He has been honored with the French National Defence Medal, 3rd Class. He is also descended from the Bourbons of Spain, the Two Sicilies, and Parma.
He has five children with his wife Philomena de Tornos Steinhart.
His 2009 civil wedding ceremony was officiated by Rachida Dati.
