Classical musician and actor whose wide-ranging repertoire included Beethoven, Schumann, Schubert, Chopin, Ravel, and Prokofiev.
He came in sixth at the 1970 International Chopin Piano Competition.
He portrayed and performed Chopin in The Blue Note, a film by Andrzej Żuławski.
His family recognized his talent while he was still young, and he started studying piano when he was six.
He was Władysław Szpilman's hands in 2002's The Pianist starring Adrien Brody.
