Jazz Singer
Jazz singer best known as a member of the acclaimed vocal group The Manhattan Transfer, whom she joined in 1972. She has won several Grammys with the band and was inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2003.
She was originally a member of the band Young Generation, recording an album with the group for Red Bird records in 1965.
Her second solo album, 1986's "At Home," was nominated for a Grammy for Best Female Jazz Vocalist.
She has a son named Gabriel.
She has frequently collaborated with singer Bobby McFerrin, working with him as a member of the groups Voicestra and Sing, Sing, Sing.
