Prominent broadcast journalist and television personality who anchored numerous television news programs and talk shows, including The Today Show (NBC), Real Life with Jane Pauley, the NBC Nightly News, Dateline NBC, and The Jane Pauley Show.
She joined the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority while attending Indiana University.
She spoke out publicly about her struggles with bipolar disorder and penned a 2004 memoir entitled Skywriting: A Life Out of the Blue.
She married Doonesbury cartoon creator Garry Trudeau in 1980. The couple welcomed twins in 1983.
She and Stone Phillips hosted Dateline NBC together.
