He studied Sports Science at Liverpool John Moores University for a year.
He played the rugby position of hooker for the English team during the Rugby League World Cup Tournament in 2008.
His family lived in Merseyside, England at the time of his birth.
He and fellow British rugby player, Ben Foden, were both born in 1985.
