He skipped second grade. At age seven, he was moved up to a fifth-grade math class.
He won $2,464,216 on Jeopardy! over his 33 appearances.
His father was a German immigrant. His grandmother was Japanese and spoke very little English. He promised her that he would appear on Jeopardy! before she died.
