Jake Hess
Gospel Singer
American gospel icon who earned a devoted following with singles like "Beautiful Isle Of Somewhere" and "Ain't That Beautiful Singing." He was a four-time Grammy winner and was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame.
He joined the famed John Daniel Quartet at age 16. He later performed with three of his brothers as the Hess Brothers Quartet.
He was a member of the group The Imperials, who served as the backing band for Elvis Presley from 1966 to 1971.
His son Jake Jr. is the founder of the record company Manchild Records.
He collaborated with 4-time Super Bowl champion quarterback Terry Bradshaw on the 1996 album Terry & Jake.
