She was born Lindsay Fields in Cleveland, Ohio. She was heavily influenced by her parents with her father's love of rock music and her mother's love of theater. She grew up with two sisters. Her husband, Devin Johnson, serves as her pianist and producer.
Her October 2013 YouTuber cover of Rihanna's Diamonds earned more than 13 million views, earning her a nod from Rolling Stone Magazine.
