Jacques Lipchitz
Sculptor
Lithuanian sculptor who was part of the Cubist movement. He sculpted The Song of the Vowels and Prometheus Strangling the Vulture.
He studied at the École des Beaux-Arts and the Académie Julian.
He was born Chaim Jacob Lipchitz, but adopted the named Jacques.
He was supported financially by his mother early in his life.
He and Jacob Lawrence are both associated with Cubism.
