She started out on the morning program El Vacilon de la Mañana on New York's WSKQ radio.
She was the Good Will Ambassador of New York's Puerto Rican Day Parade in 2004.
She was married to Don Omar from 2006 to 2013. She has two sons named Tomás Ramírez and Adieny Núñez.
She auditioned for the title role in the biopic Selena, but the part went to Jennifer Lopez.
