Jack Shea

American speed skater nicknamed The Chief who won two gold medals at the 1932 Olympics in Lake Placid.
He went to school at Dartmouth and studied law at Albany for a few years.
He was the first American to win two gold medals in a single Olympics.
His son, Jim Shea, Sr., and grandson, Jim Shea, Jr., also competed in the Winter Olympics.
He read the Olympic Oath at the 1932 games which were presided over by future president Franklin D. Roosevelt.
