Jaan Einasto
Astrophysicist
Estonian astrophysicist who made great contributions to his field in the 20th century. He has been awarded three Estonian National Science Awards and is a member of the European Astronomical Society and the Royal Astronomical Society.
He was educated at the University of Tartu.
He discovered an asteroid in 1994, and it was named in his honor.
He was born and raised in Tartu, Estonia.
He was born in the same country as astronomer Ernst Opik.
