Known as well for her frequent appearances in Czech tabloids as for her successful music career, this three-time winner of the Zlaty slavik poll of top female musicians suffered from substance abuse issues and other psychiatric problems and committed suicide at the age of forty-eight.
She began her career in the early 1980s, performing with a band called Dianthus. She released her debut solo album, I.B., in 1987.
She played the main role in a 1993 Czech comedy movie titled Svatba upÃrů.
Her relationship with fellow musician Ladislav Štaidl resulted in a son named Artur. She later married and divorced actor Jiří Pomeje, and, at the time of her death, was married to Josef Rychtář.
On numerous occasions, she and fellow Czech singer Karel Gott were voted their country's top pop stars.
