Ivan Lalic

Serbian poet and literary prize recipient known for his 1969 poetry collection Izabrane i nove pesme. His translated works include The Passionate Measure, Fading Contact, and A Rusty Needle.
He was the son of a Belgrade journalist and the grandson of a musical composer.
His poems have been translated into French, English, Italian, Hungarian, Macedonian, and Polish.
He was survived by his wife Branka and by his younger child.
He and Matija Beckovic are both prominent Serbian poets.
