Uruguayan professional football player known for his work with the Club Atletico River Plate in Argentina. He is known for his position as a striker and also for his work with the Alaves club in La Liga where he spent the majority of his professional career in Spain.
His youth career began in 1993 with a short stint with the club Defensor before beginning his career with Club Atletico River Plate in 1994. His senior career began in 1998 when he was moved up to the River Plate first team and continued in 2000 when he began playing for the Alaves club. He would eventually go back to the River Plate club in 2016.
As an individual, he was awarded the Liga MX Top Scorer award for his work with Apertura in 2011. He also won the Copa Argentina in 2015 with the River Plate club.
He was born and raised in Montevideo, Uruguay.
