Japanese actor who played roles in Japanese horror films including Suicide Club and as Nakagawa in The Grudge & The Grudge 2. His other films include A Homansu, Suicide Club, and Moon Child.
He joined a band called ARB (Alexander Ragtime Band) in 1977 before launching his acting career in 1986.
He won an award at the Yokohama Film Festival in the Best Actor category for his role in the 1989 film, A Sign Days.
He married Mieko Harada in 1987 and the couple had three children together.
He co-starred with Sarah Michelle Gellar in the popular 2004 horror film, The Grudge.
