Actress who starred in numerous Broadway productions, including Song of Norway, Candide, and Anya.
She started performing with the New York Metropolitan Opera in 1933.
In 1957, she was nominated for a Tony Award for her performance in Candide.
She was born in Russia; her father, Stephen Petin, worked as an assistant to Czar Nicholas II. After settling in the United States, she married Frank Bussey.
She and Constance Towers both performed in Anya, a 1965 Broadway musical.
