Producer of the 1966 film A Man Called Adam, he was the first African-American to produce a major Hollywood movie. He also became their for his secret marriage to film star Inger Stevens.
He was a star football player at the University of California-Los Angeles and was drafted by the Green Bay Packers following his graduation.
He was the first black graduate of the UCLA Film School.
He married popular Swedish actress Inger Stevens in 1961. Inger tragically committed suicide several years later in 1970.
His first production, A Man Called Adam, starred Sammy Davis, Jr.
