Ian Gibson

Irish biographer and Hispanic studies scholar. He won the James Tait Black Memorial Prize for his 1989 biography of author Federico García Lorca.
After graduating from Trinity College, Dublin, he taught Spanish literature at several English and Irish universities.
He published his debut Spanish-language novel, Viento del Sur, in 2001.
He was born to a Methodist family in Dublin, Ireland. He later attended school in Waterford, Ireland.
He wrote La vida desaforada de Salvador Dalí, a 1998 biography of Spanish artist Salvador Dali.
