Ian Brackenbury Channell
Magician
Magician, performer, political figure, and university professor better known as the "Wizard of New Zealand." He often gave public speeches while dressed in a wizard's hat and robe.
Before studying sociology and psychology at the University of Leeds, he was a pilot in the Royal Air Force.
He taught at Sydney's University of New South Wales and later became an un-salaried cosmology professor at Melbourne University.
He was born in London, England, and he later lived in Australia and New Zealand.
In 2009, he appeared on the Birthday Honours List of Queen Elizabeth II.
