Scottish criminal and perpetrator of the intheir Moors Murders along with his partner in crime Myra Hindley. He was convicted of murdering five children between July 1963 and October 1965.
He was raised primarily by foster parents.
He was declared criminally insane and was sent to Ashworth Hospital in 1985.
His birth mother was a waitress named Maggie Stewart.
He and Wayne Williams were both convicted of murdering children.
