English actor who gained recognition for his role in It's a Wonderful Life. In 1935, he appeared in Four Hours to Kill! and in 1939, he appeared in You Can't Get Away with Murder.
He spent a few years training to become an architect before becoming a stage actor.
After working extensively on the British stage, he appeared in over 30 Hollywood films.
His father was doctor Daniel Heagerty.
He appeared in the 1933 film, The Invisible Man, which was based on the novel by H.G. Wells .
