Japanese comic book and manga artist who is best recognized for their series Haikyu!!. They are also known for their series Playground in 2009 and Nisekoi and Haikyū = Nisekyū!! from 2012.
They first started gaining attention in 2008 when they won an award at the Jump Treasure Newcomer Manga Awards for their series King Kid in Weekly Shonen Jump.
They are also known for having played volleyball in Junior High School as a middle blocker.
They were born and raised in the Iwate Prefecture in Japan. He has a brother who is often discussed in his Weekly Shonen Jump series King Kid.
He had listed Eiichiro Oda as one of his favorite artists, especially his series One Piece.
