He began his career in 1880 with the Worcester Ruby Legs.
He won home run titles in 1880, 1883, 1885, and 1889.
His mother didn't want him playing baseball so he changed his name from Harry Stowe to Harry Stovey when he began his baseball career.
He played in the same era as Hall of Famer Cap Anson.
