Sprinter who won bronze in the 100 meters at the 1964 Olympics and also won gold in the 100 meters at the 1967 Pan American Games.
He ran track at the University of Oregon.
He died of a brain aneurysm when he was 42 years old.
His grandfather John Howard represented Canada in the 1912 Olympics.
Bill Bowerman was his coach at Oregon.
