American track and field athlete who won three gold medals at the 1904 Olympics, winning the 400 meters, 200 meter hurdles, and 400 meter hurdles.
He first competed in the Olympics in 1900 but didn't receive any medals.
He returned to the Olympics in 1908 and took a silver in the 400 meter hurdles.
He is the son of Maxwell and Loretta Hillman.
He last competed in the 1908 Olympics, four years before the legendary Jim Thorpe broke onto the scene.
