Physician turned actor who received an Academy Award in 1985 for his role in The Killing Fields alongside John Malkovich. He was murdered after playing Billy Tungpet in the 1996 film, Hit Me.
He worked as a doctor in a refugee camp in Thailand.
In 1988, he wrote Haing Ngor: A Cambodian Odyssey, which was based on his time in Cambodia.
He married Huoy Ngor.
He appeared in Heave & Earth, which was directed by Oliver Stone.
