Alternative rock bassist known for being one of the original members of the band Coldplay. He's also played with Apparatjik and Magne Furuholmen.
He dropped out of architecture school at University College London to pursue a full-time music career.
As a member of Coldplay, he earned twenty-five Grammy Award nominations between 2002 and 2012.
He was married to Joanna Briston from 2004 to 2007 and had a daughter with her. He grew up with an older brother named Mark.
He and vocalist Chris Martin have performed together as members of Coldplay.
