Norwegian sculptor associated with the Vigeland Sculpture Arrangement, where he made 212 bronze and granite sculptures.
He moved to Oslo where he began learning wood carving.
He designed the Nobel Peace Prize medal.
His younger brother, Emanuel Vigeland, was also an artist.
He created a their bust of Norwegian writer Henrik Ibsen.
