Gurmehar Kaur
Activist
Student activist who is known for being an ambassador for Postcards for Peace. She is also known for being a part of the Save DU Campaign which focused on the unification of between India and Pakistan.
She studied English Literature at Lady Shri Ram College for Women at Delhi University. She gained further attention with a viral video in February of 2017 in which she spoke out against the acts of violence at Delhi University.
She was featured in Time Magazine's October 2017 issue where they named her as one of the 10 Next Generation Leaders, citing her as a Free Speech warrior.
Her father Mandeep Singh was one of seven army personnel killed after a Rashtriya Rifle camp was attacked by militants.
Her viral video was seen and supported by screenwriter Javed Akhtar.
