She taught herself music production by watching YouTube tutorials. She learned how to make beats on the digital audio workstation Logic.
In 2020, she performed live for the first time in the US at the Sayers Club in Hollywood.
She was born to Jamaican and Chinese parents. She grew up alongside her two brothers, as well as foster children.
Both she and fellow pop artist Dua Lipa were signed by the same representative.
