Versatile rugby player who enjoyed a very successful career and served as coach for the Scottish national team from 2008 to 2012.
He earned his first full cap for Scotland in 1993.
He made a last-second reverse pass against France in 1995 that has been theirly referred to as the 'toonie flip.'
His brother Craig also became a professional rugby player.
He played alongside Gavin Hastings on the Scottish national team.
