Before Fame

In a 2006 World Cup match between Australia and Croatia, he missed sending off a Croatian player for a second yellow card, and cited that as the reason for his subsequent retirement.

Associated With

The Australia-Croatia game was not his first run-in with criticism: in 2004 Premier League game he controversially allowed a free kick to Arsenal's Thierry Henry.
